Luxury in Lech / Zurs: Charmingly beautiful and snow-sure
Zürs is small and refined Alpine town with a few shops, guaranteed snow and a friendly atmosphere of traditional and sophisticated tranquillity. The high altitude makes it a skier's paradise with magnificent snow. It is top of the range in ski-guiding and ski-school. There is a network of approximately 20 km of winter footpaths with several viewpoints along the way. Lech, on the other hand, is a little mountain village, full of character, well preserved in its original size. Oberlech is a car-free town, well worth visiting in summer as well as winter. Renting one of the catered ski chalets, Lech / Zurs, provides memorable luxury winter holidays because there is always something going on: ski- or snowboard contests, art and culture events, local history museum or concerts for every taste.
Lech/Zϋrs is one of the well-known group of a dozen locations identified as the 'Best of the Alps'. Wintertime brings many highlights for winter sport lovers from all over the world to enjoy. These include the acoustic fireworks in Zürs, the White Ring ski race, the Bregenz Festival in the snow, the Lech Mountain Trophy, and of course the Spring Festival in Oberlech towards the end of the season. But there are also many cosy and highly enjoyable side-events with many art, music and culture activities. Children are welcome in the resort and it has its own kindergarten. In the year 2004 Zϋrs was the proud winner of the Entente Florale Europe, a competition with the aim of improving the quality of life for local village communities.
