Luxury in Val d'Isere: Kilometers of skiing in one of the world's best designed resorts
Skiing at Val d'Isere is as good as it can possibly get. The resort is a commune of the Tarentaise Valley in the Savoie Rhone Alps, south-east France, with good transport connections from Lyon, Geneva and Chambery. A snowpark, 300 km of slopes, free-ride itineraries, a high altitude and an outstanding geographical situation combine to provide something for everyone, including children and beginners. It has the most advanced ski lift system in Europe and is decidedly well planned for skiers of all levels. The modern and fast lifts limit queues, and the ski schools are amongst the very best. Often the highpoint of the day, for skiers and non-skiers alike, is a wonderful lunch in one of the many restaurants in the resort. Val d'Isère has a boisterous nightlife that begins with plenty of après-ski choices, from a lively bar in the middle of the pistes to lots of fun venues in the town. Evening entertainment ranges from the simple to the sophisticated and for those who like a quieter time there are a number of piano bars and cocktail lounges.
Val d'Isère's slopes have always been the venue for great sporting achievements, be it the Olympic Games, World Cup, Criterium de la Première Neige and the World Alpine Ski Championships. Yet this illustrious skiing area is not exclusively for champions, it is a perfect resort for just about everyone, providing for all levels of difficulty. Linked with the resort of Tignes, Val d'Isère forms the Espace Killy ski area named after the triple Olympic champion Jean-Claude Killy who grew up in Val d'Isère. Espace Killy offers an enormous skiing domain, perfectly groomed pistes and an excellent snow base. Lying a few kilometres from the Italian border, near to the Vanoise National Park, it has made great strides over the years since its humble beginnings in 1888 to beautify the resort and to provide the services that make luxury winter holidays unforgettable. The luxury ski chalets for rent are some of the best in the Alps. Apart from the private catered chalets, Leo Trippi also offers luxury catered apartments as well as self-catered luxury apartments and chalets for rent.
