Situated on the island of Honshu, and as you get closer to the resort your breath will be taken away by the magical views of Hakuba's mountains and the glittering snow, forests and picture perfect village. Whizz down Mt Karamatsu with the majestic Japanese Alps behind you when you embark on one of Happo-One's famous runs. Book yourself a luxury rental chalet, let the beauty of this destination inspire you and be happy in this natural playground with a gondola, 25 chairlifts and 13 pistes, of which the longest is 6.8km. Narita (Tokyo) Airport is the closest airport, 5-6 hours by road. A train/bus combo is quicker: take a train from Narita to Tokyo (or Ueno), then a bullet train (Shinkansen) to Nagano, and then a 1 hour bus ride to Hakuba. The total trip takes about 3.5-4 hours, depending upon connection timing. The other advantage of taking the trains is that it provides great insight into a part of the Japanese culture. This resort is just over an hour by train from Matsumoto station.
