Luxury in Ibiza ARCHIVED: Something for everyone

There are three cities on Ibiza island, namely San Antonio, Ibiza Town and Santa Eulària des Riu. Ibiza Town (Eivissa) is the proud island capital and is located on the south-easterly coast, where it enjoys a sheltered harbour side setting. Ibiza Town is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the whole of Europe and is the largest and most attractive town on the island, being home to a magnificent Spanish cathedral, many excellent restaurants, fashionable bars and stunning private rental villas. Nearby there are also numerous old stone cottages on the island's hilly countryside and walking in this area is popular. The attractive island of Ibiza boasts an average of 300 days of sunshine each year and enjoys a hot Mediterranean sun that is accompanied by cool, revitalizing sea breezes, and the winters are quite mild. This pleasing climate, combined with various superb beaches with fine golden sand, clear blue seas and outstanding nightlife, means that Ibiza is understandably a popular destination for tourists. The pace of life for locals on this popular Balearic Island still remains relaxed and moves at a gentle pace. There is a very special feeling that holds those who love Ibiza close to its bosom. Let them introduce you to the island they love.

Ibiza has a status of a cosmopolitan party island, but there is much more to this popular destination than just its first-rate nightclubs. It is the closest of all the Balearic Islands to mainland Spain and has a 200km coastline, with many small coves and over 50 stunning beaches. Ibiza Town (Eivissa) has grown to become a delightful tourism resort close to the Platja de Figueretes beachfront and has become a focal spot for nightlife in Ibiza, and also offers a useful Tourist Information Centre on the Passeig des Moll. Notable tourist attractions on Ibiza include the Cova d'es Culleram and its captivating history, the many restaurants and shops lining the Paseo Vara de Rey, and Ponylandia (Ponyland), which is aimed at children. Exploring the island in autumn and winter, you get much more of an idea of the life locals lead in Ibiza, particularly if you delve into the island's rich history. It is possibly one of the most multinational destinations of the Mediterranean, with a lot of French, German and English owners of luxury Ibiza villas. We are pleased to offer some of the finest luxury villas to rent on the island, places where the large rooms, outstanding design, and attention to detail will help you to truly experience the wonders Ibiza.

Things you definitely should see when on Ibiza island includes Es Vedra, the mystical island rock off Ibiza's west coast; Atlantis, a hidden cove, but only if you can find a local who will tell you it's secret location, and the old part of Ibiza Town. Explore the many beaches all along the coast and the famous Hippy Markets. Visit Bar Anita in San Carlos, the historical venue where the artists and writers of the 50's, 60's and 70's used to collect their cheques and stop for a drink. Visit Cova de Can Marçà in Puerto de San Miguel, the biggest natural caves in Ibiza. Do try two local specialities: ensaimada, a soft pastry coil, and flao, a sweet cheese and mint flan.

With crystal clear waters, rocky islands, small coves and beautiful sandy beaches, it is hardly surprising that the wide variety of water sports on offer are always a firm favourites on Ibiza. As well as the many excellent and fully qualified diving schools all around the island, you might also want to try your hand at water-skiing, kayaking, paragliding, windsurfing, paddle surfing, kite surfing or sailing. The stunning scenery and landscapes make hiking, biking and quad riding very popular.
