Gstaad - Switzerland

The Grande Dame of the Alps

Gstaad is a discreet and charming resort much favoured by the cream of European society. The skiing is good, not spectacular, but the resort is about more than just skiing. With some of the best hotels, spas, restaurants and chalets in Europe and an understated elegance, Gstaad does not have to shout to attract loyal supporters.

The skiing offers some good long runs and beginners will also feel quite at home. The ski domain is divided into four main areas that are not really linked together, so most people choose one mountain and stick to it for the day. Les Diablerets is nearby, with its glacier skiing. Other areas covered by the same lift pass include Rougemont, Saanen and Gsteig. More and more people are now also trying cross country skiing and for this the area has much to offer. We have a few off-line properties available for rent in Gstaad.

Many visitors never intend to don ski gear: they come for family gatherings, to meet old friends and for the social scene. With some of the most exclusive chalets available for rental anywhere in the Alps, Gstaad and its neighbouring villages offer an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere, as well as plenty of more refined hang-outs where you will find a rather discreet culture indulging in life's pleasures.
