Saas-Fee, a jewel in the crown of exceptional ski resorts, is probably one of the best kept secrets for luxury winter holidays in the Swiss Alps. First is its impressive natural setting, located in the heart of a dramatic Mischabel range formed by 13 mountain tops of over 4000 meters, and guaranteed good snow under almost all conditions. Then it has managed to stay small and to contain its growth so that the village has nothing to envy of its more famous neighbour, Zermatt. It is also a car-free resort, so if you like the idea of Zermatt, you might want to give Saas Fee a try. Apart from magnificent luxury catered chalets, Leo Trippi also offers luxury apartments for rental, as well as luxury chalets and luxury apartments on a self-catered basis.
Opportunities for shopping and spa treatments are available. Non-skiers will enjoy the romantic horse-drawn carriage rides. Haute cuisine is part of any special holiday – you will find this in Saas Fee, amongst other in the revolving restaurant that optimises the stunning views.
In Saas Fee you can relish in downhill skiing over 150km of snow sure pistes. Amateur cross-country skiers will love the 32 km of cross-country skiing tracks through forests and along frozen rivers. For the more daring there is ice climbing in this resort that houses the Ice Climbing World Cup. An open-air ice skating rink invites all to join in the fun. Wonderful winter walking trails, stretching over 350 kilometres, and some marvellous toboggan runs are available, with specials for families and children. The Adventure Park has Suspension Rope facilities and the Alpin gorge provides a fixed rope route crossing.
