In recent years, Chamonix has become recognized as one of the leading European winter sports destinations. Breathtaking scenery complements the skiing and snowboarding for all levels, with some of the most demanding descents for the true 'powder hounds' looking for exhilarating Alpine off piste. Away from the slopes, the town in Chamonix combines culture and heritage with a wonderful cosmopolitan atmosphere. There are a wide selection of shops and boutiques situated amongst the cobbled streets and delightful bars and cafes to sit and watch the world go by. The rustic mountain restaurants serve traditional Savoyard cuisine and of course the nightlife is not to be missed!
