Skiing in Zillertal

Made up of four areas, ski holidays in this area offer an incredible 544 km in total of slopes to explore.

Particularly suitable for families, the Spieljoch area in Fügen provides wide open slopes, a fun park, as well as the FunSlope Spieljoch. Providing 114 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, the long, snow-covered valley run down to Fügen is particularly popular with groups of skiers. Freeriders can also enjoy the areas of Hochfügen - Hochzillertal and there are several groomed pistes for experienced skiers, as well as a large selection of blue and red pistes.

The largest connected skiing area, the Arena offers 150 kilometres of slopes and has early morning skiing twice a week in March from 6.55 a.m. For something a little different, why not try cross-country skiing with 30 km of trails to explore in the area too.

For the more experienced skiers of the group, the Mayrhofen area is home to the ValleyRun Ahorn, a challenging 5.5 km long black slope. Skiers can also partake in the MayrhofenTrophy, overcoming challenges in the area with the chance to win prizes. With 142 km of slopes to explore, the Ahornbahn cable car runs from 7.30 a.m.

Finally, located at the highest altitude at the Ski- & Glacier World 3000, skiers and snowboarders can explore 202 km of perfectly groomed slopes, as well as challenging freeride areas and mogul slopes. There is also a funslope to enjoy as well as two child friendly slopes.

Located in the Tyrolean Valley, the closest airport to Zillertal is Innsbruck at just 50 km with a transfer time of under one hour. Both Salzburg (150 km) and Munich (170 km) airports also offer regular flights with transfers of approximately 2 hours.
