Val d'Isere is teeming with chalets and apartments to rent. But we've narrowed down the options...
Situated in the Tarentaise Valley with over 300 km of slopes to explore, Val d’Isere has become one of Europe’s most popular resorts. One of the reasons for this is the excellent range of accommodation it has to offer. There’s an abundance of ski-in/ski-out chalets and apartments, modern and traditional properties as well as luxury chalets with state-of-the-art wellness facilities and technology. But which one to choose?
VIEWS: Chalet Orso
For breathtaking views you can’t beat Chalet Orso. Situated in Le Fornet area of Val d’Isere, this beautiful alpine retreat is surrounded by pine trees and is just 150 metres from the slopes. The most impressive views are from the stylish open plan living area which features huge floor-to-ceiling picture windows through which you can admire the awe-inspiring mountain panorama.
To further enjoy the scenery, just step outside onto the large 40m² terrace where you’ll also find a Norwegian tub to relax in after a hard day’s skiing. Above the living room is a mezzanine games area where you can enjoy table football, pinball, various games and vinyl records as well as a bird’s eye view of the village.
Five bedrooms accommodate up to 10 adults and three children. The master suite has a balcony with views of the snowy surroundings whilst the second and third bedrooms look out over the Fornet forest.
DESIGN: Chalet Black Pearl
Conceived by Philippe Capezzone, owner and architect of five-star Hotel Le K2 Altitude in Courchevel 1850, Chalet Black Pearl was built to “answer the most demanding criteria in terms of luxury and comfort.” Combining traditional Savoyard stone and classic wood panelling with modern furnishings and bespoke service, Chalet Black Pearl adopts the perfect balance between contemporary design and alpine authenticity.
The living room is elegant with a cosy fireplace, soft throws and velvet cushions creating a relaxed ambiance. Anthracite and black hues feature throughout giving a sophisticated look to the interior. There is a stunning home cinema with large sofas, perfect for watching your favourite movie or playing a video game. The ski room is equally splendid with leather benches and seats tailor-made by a local craftsman. The highlight though has to be the elegant spa with its generous pool, hammam and relaxation zone.
Chalet Black Pearl accommodates 10 guests across five beautifully-appointed bedrooms featuring high-quality linens and striking black and white bathrooms. You’re sure to enjoy many restful nights in this sumptuous chalet.
WELLNESS: Chalet Lhotse

With a huge drop-down cinema screen connected to the chalet’s entertainment system, you can even watch a movie whilst you tackle a few lengths. Further opportunities to unwind lie in the adjacent indoor Jacuzzi, hammam and sauna. Or you can head outside and enjoy the views from the outdoor hot tub. There’s also a treatment room where you can enjoy a rejuvenating massage, preparing you for another day on the slopes. Those in training can also work out in the gym.
Another plus is that Chalet Lhotse’s pools and Jacuzzis are completely chlorine-free, using the latest ozone technology to make them more environmentally friendly.
FAMILIES: Chalet La Bergerie

With seven bedrooms there is enough sleeping space for 13 guests and with 300m² of living space over three floors, plenty of room to spread out. With ski-in/ski-out access, it couldn’t be easier to reach the slopes yet the town is just a 10-minute walk away should you want to experience Val d’Isere’s many shops, bars and restaurants.
Open log fires and comfortable sofas to relax on create a homely vibe whilst a separate TV lounge is the perfect spot for teenagers to hang out. Outside is a hot tub and sauna where the family can unwind together.
There are five king-size bedrooms which can also be configured as twins giving flexible sleeping options. One of the bedrooms has a small interconnecting room with a shared shower room - ideal for a young child or nanny.
ENTERTAINMENT: Chalet Marco Polo

After a day on the slopes, evening entertainment kicks off with a tipple or two in the all-white bar area featuring cosy faux-fur couches and a large flat-screen TV. There’s no need to jostle with the crowds in the resort’s bars, as later on, this turns into a full-on party room with laser effects, dance floor and entertainment system. Heading upstairs, you’ll find a spacious open plan living area with a drop-down cinema screen for those times when you just want to snuggle on the sofa in front of a movie.
