The family orientated ski resort, making special provision for children, is a unique ski destination. Courchevel actually consists of different villages, each with its own character, but with fast connections between them. Courchevel 1550 offers good skiing for all levels of ability with 150km of alpine ski runs serviced by 58 state of the art ski lifts. Excellent high altitude mountain restaurants are favourite meeting places for lunches on the slopes. There are plenty of shops in town and a lovely outdoor skating rink. The elegant town is well known for its haute cuisine with a number of Michelin star restaurants, luxurious spa, lovely boutique shops, and an exciting nightlife. Courchevel is one of the famous resorts of the Domaine des 3 Vallées, with its three parallel valleys; 600km of runs linked together by 180 state of the art lifts; 66 km of maintained and marked cross country ski trails.

The resort has high snow reliability and for experienced skiers there are challenging skiing under the watchful eye of a ski guide. There are special Zen areas, dedicated to safety, for beginners. A Piou Piou area, in a secure location, with ski instructor, takes care of the children. The toboggan run provides pure fun for the whole family. ESF, Ecole de Ski Francaise, takes children from 3 years up in 3 ski schools and many excellent instructors who speak 12 languages among them. The 19 green and 35 blue runs are ideal for learning; 34 red runs and 8 black allow skiers to test their technique. There has been much change in recent years in Courchevel Village and new luxury chalets were built on the Proveres site. The resort is famous for the quality of its ski-in and ski-out luxury ski chalets for rent, catered luxury chalets, as well as private chalets on a self-catered basis.
