Luxury in Villars-Gryon: Easily accessible village ambience in the heart of the Swiss Alps

In winter, the ViIlars-Gryon-Diablerets-Glacier ski area boasts 125 km of trails between 1,300 and 3,000 meters of altitude and allows all snow sport enthusiasts to take full advantage of the very diverse ski area that offers a wide choice of trails for every level of skiing. The construction of the ski area and the various means of accessing the trails, enable non-skiers to easily join skiers during the day. The resort offers sports, relaxation and cultural activities for families and visitors of all ages, far from pollution and noise. Villars offers an international atmosphere, with guests of all ages and from all over the world, and a number of exclusive private schools. Its smaller neighbour Gryon is a little lower down, on the more easterly side of the valley. Together, they make up the holiday destination of Villars-Gryon. Some of the topmost events you should not miss while you are there, include the Villars Night Show on the pistes of Bretaye, the Jumping Villars-Gryon Qualifying competition for the Swiss Championships in Show Jumping and the lively Villars de Vivre Festival.

Villars-Gryon is situated in the middle of the Vaud Alps on a natural southern facing terrace with an altitude of 1,300 meters. It has a picturesque backdrop with a superb panoramic view stretching from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc. The Villars-Gryon resort region has kept its village atmosphere despite effective development of tourism. Architectural unity stayed in place due to strict building codes for ski chalets. Old ancestral residences are found alongside recent luxury rental chalet constructions in wood, all of which safeguard a harmony that blends perfectly into the natural surroundings. Thus nature remains unspoilt and the typical mountain atmosphere adds to your relaxation and peace of mind. Located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland high above the Rhone valley, Villars-Gryon is one of the Swiss mountain resorts closest to Geneva (115 km, a 1 hour and 20 minute drive) and access is easy, by car or by public transportation. Indeed, Lausanne is only 45 minutes away; Montreux-Vevey, 30 minutes and the shores of Lake Geneva, 20 minutes. Zurich Airport is 240 km from there and access by train is nearly direct.
