Luxury Ski Holidays in Niseko

Set against the backdrop of Mt Yotei on the northern island of Hokkaido Niseko is one of the most popular resorts in Japan. Receiving on average 15-18 metres of incredible powder snow per season, it is not hard to see why this powder hound’s dream, with incredible tree runs, long trails and big powder bowls is so popular.

Heli-skiing is also possible in Niseko with night skiing available every evening. If skiing isn’t on the agenda, this beautiful resort offers plenty of alternative winter activities including snowmobiling and snowshoeing.

Relaxation is also covered as Niseko is home to blissful onsens (hot spring baths). Just 10 minutes from the centre of Niseko, Hirafu is where you’ll find the best dining opportunities and vibrant nightlife.

The resort has a range of accommodation from hotels to luxury ski chalets, and more recently, a series of luxury apartments have been built in Niseko. Niseko is also beautiful in the summer when visitors can enjoy various outdoor pursuits, from zip lines and rafting to mountain biking and golf.

Leo Trippi has a stunning collection of luxury ski chalet & apartment rentals in and around Niseko. Made up of four main areas - Annupuri, Higashiyama (Niseko Village), Hirafu and Hanazono, Hirafu is the largest of the areas, with over a dozen lifts and a sizeable town area.

Offering a stylish base, many of our luxury ski chalets in Middle Hirafu village offer breathtaking views of Mt Yotei, with our luxury residences in Upper Hirafu just 200 metres from the Hirafu gondolas and a short walk to the centre of the Hirafu Village.

Located west of Hirafu is the next largest resort, Niseko Village, which has a small collection of restaurants, bars and boutiques. Here, avid skiers will enjoy our selection of ski-in chalets set within a private gated compound.

Skiing in Niseko

Niseko has long held the position of Japan’s premier ski resort for many reasons including the variety of groomed runs, access to sensational powder skiing and a well-established town centre.

The ski season in Niseko starts at the end of November and runs through until early May with often record levels of snowfall and slopes to cater for all abilities. Lower down the mountain you will find beginner and intermediate slopes branching off from every ski lift. Those looking to dip their toes into powder skiing need not look far; just to the side of each piste is deep ungroomed powder for you to test your skills with the comfort of the marked slopes nearby.

For the more advanced and adventurous skiers, Niseko has an abundance of un-pisted slopes, side country and backcountry skiing available with everything from wide open bowls to technical tree runs for when the visibility is poor. For those venturing into the backcountry we would recommend booking a ski guide to keep you safe and help you find the perfect untouched terrain.

If you are looking for a smaller less crowded resort in Japan then Kiroro could be a fantastic option for you.
