With around 300 to 400 permanent residents, La Tzoumaz in Switzerland is a small town acting as an excellent gateway to the vast ski area.

The gondola from La Tzoumaz to the top of Savoleyres takes around eight minutes, with the added advantage of bypassing the lift queues in Verbier. From here, you can reach Le Carrefour and the rest of Verbier’s ski area in a further eight minutes.

Perfect for families, there is plenty for children to enjoy during their stay in one of our La Tzoumaz chalets, including a natural ice rink, indoor swimming pool and the longest toboggan run in Western Switzerland (10 km), which drops 834m into the village.

La Tzoumaz ski holidays are ideal for children looking to try skiing for the first time with a great ski school and numerous areas dedicated to the younger members of the family. With experienced and highly qualified instructors, the smallest children can enjoy the Swiss Snow Village together whilst older children can discover this fun winter sport through group lessons.

In the snow village, the La Tzoumaz ski school will get children sliding with the mascot Snowli and provide the opportunity to also take part in the Swiss Snow League, a scheme in which skiers and snowboarders work their way through different levels to improve their winter sports skills. On the outskirts of the village, the nursery slope is the ideal spot to put into action what you have learned on a gentle and quiet slope.

For the older children in your group, group lessons are available and the Red League gives more experienced children the chance to cover a different theme each day.

For something a little different, adults and children alike can enjoy the Audi Quattro Funslope which provides playful elements such as bridges, tunnels and a 10-metre-long snail that is especially popular among children. The area also includes boxes and smaller jumps to enjoy.

La Tzoumaz restaurants are also well suited to families. Located at the bottom of the slopes, Le Blanc has a welcoming terrace with pizzas and burgers made from local ingredients whilst families wanting to venture a little further can enjoy numerous family-friendly restaurants in Verbier.

Skiing in La Tzoumaz

Located at an altitude of 1550m, the hidden gem resort of La Tzoumaz offers immediate access to the world-famous resort of Verbier. As part of the 4 ​​Vallées ski area, there are 410 km of slopes to enjoy during your stay at your La Tzoumaz chalet. Often less crowded than the slopes in Verbier, La Tzoumaz has excellent conditions due to its north-facing slopes ensuring good snow cover until the end of April. With wide gentle slopes, the La Tzoumaz ski area is particularly suitable for beginners helping them to build confidence and work on their technique.

For the intermediate skiers of the group, the 4 ​​Vallées gives ample variety and plenty of red runs to enjoy. Strong intermediate skiers can also explore the numerous routes off Mont Fort.

The Mont Fort area around Verbier is particularly popular for strong borders and skiers with a peak altitude of 3300m. With many challenging descents from the summit, the area also provides plenty of black runs and endless off-piste terrain perfect for both technical skiers and free riders.

Apres-Ski in La Tzoumaz

La Tzoumaz has a more relaxed apres ski scene than its neighbouring resort of Verbier. Several bars and hotels in La Tzoumaz Switzerland offer a post-ski tipple however for those looking to experience a more lively apres scene, Verbier is just a few minutes away. During the peak season we do recommend reserving tables in certain venues as peak weeks can be rather busy.

How to have the perfect luxury ski holiday in La Tzoumaz

  1. Wake up in Chalet V and enjoy a hot breakfast and a cup of coffee before heading out to explore the 4 ​​Vallées.
  2. With plenty of on and off-slope activities on offer, children can enjoy a group lesson in the morning before taking on the longest toboggan run in Western Switzerland with the whole family.
  3. For the adults of the group, there is ample terrain to explore whilst the little ones are in the safe hands of the ski school.
  4. Following a day on the slopes, enjoy the apres ski in La Tzoumaz or venture to Verbier to enjoy live music and themed nights.
  5. Upon your return to Chalet V, the chalet’s private spa will be waiting complete with a sauna and small steam shower, as well as a heated outdoor pool and large hot tub.

La Tzoumaz is close to several international airports, the nearest being Sion just 52 km away. Airport transfers from Sion to La Tzoumaz take approximately 35 minutes. Alternatively Geneva is just 150 km away with a transfer time of around 1 hour 45 minutes.
