Nendaz ski resort is tucked away in Valais on a plateau that overlooks the Rhône plain. Located in the heart of the massive 4 Vallées ski area, this luxury resort is one of the 23 resorts in Switzerland to have been awarded the 'Families Welcome' label by the Swiss Tourism Federation. Part of the largest ski area in Switzerland, the ski area has more than 2000m of vertical descent from the highest peak to the lowest piste.

Stretching from 1300 m to 1600 m in altitude, Nendaz ski resort has 412 km of pistes to explore, as well as numerous alternative winter activities to enjoy; including 100km of winter hiking trails and 40km of snowshoe tracks. Located between Verbier and Veysonnaz, this luxury resort is also just 8 km down the mountain from Siviez and Thyon. Siviez is also sometimes called ‘Super Nendaz’ and provides direct access to the Tortin and up to the Mont-Fort.

At 3330m Mont Fort is the highest peak of the ‘Les 4 Vallées’ resort. With views of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and the Grand Combin, Mont Fort has the highest zip line in the world with a speed of over 100 kilometres per hour.

Throughout the year, the resort has a plethora of events including the Nendaz Freeride. Undoubtedly the most prestigious event of the Freeride World Qualifier, the spectacular face of Mont-Gond is the perfect setting for this exciting event attracting a large number of thrill-seeking international riders. In the month of March, the resort also plays host to the Grand Prix Migro Children’s slalom ski race. This is one of the qualifying races to give competitors a chance to win access to the grand final.

Skiing in Nendaz

Providing more than 130 km of green and blue runs, it should come as no surprise that this resort is popular for families looking to take their children to the Swiss Alps to learn to ski. Linking Nendaz, Thyon and Veysonnaz, the Printse Sector lift pass is the perfect choice for first time skiers looking to improve their technique on numerous wide pistes.

The resort also has three dedicated beginner areas for those making their skiing debut with experienced instructors from several ski schools on hand to build confidence and work on your technique. Both group and private lessons are available during your stay.

For the more experienced skiers of the group, intermediates can enjoy plenty of red runs that make up 49% of the resort. More confident skiers of the group can also head up to Plan-du-Fou and take on the long red down to Siviez.

Expert skiers will also have plenty to keep them entertained during their luxury holiday with some of the best off-piste skiing in the world found in the 4 Valleys. Some popular marked freeride areas include Eteygeon, Mont-Fort, Plan-du-Fou, Chassoure and Mont Gele.
