Best Hotels in Courchevel 1850

1.Cheval Blanc Courchevel: Best Courchevel hotel for out-of-this-world cuisine

There are several ski in ski out hotels in Courchevel but Cheval Blanc is one of the best. Situated at the foot of the slopes, Cheval Blanc is one of the most lavish hotels in Courchevel. The location could not be better with the Bellecote slopes on your doorstep and designer shops a short stroll away. The hotel itself has 36 rooms and suites but if you are looking for more privacy then Cheval Blanc’s “Le Chalet” is the place to be.

Entry to the three-bedroom chalet is via a private entrance and an elevator. Set over 315 sqm, the interior combines authentic mountain materials with original art pieces. With its suspended rotating fireplace, the living area is the perfect spot to relax. Curl up in front of your favourite movie, choose a novel from the chalet library and step out onto the panoramic balcony for breathtaking mountain views. The master suite, spanning the whole of the top floor, includes a spacious master bedroom and an en-suite living room, complete with private bar and leading onto a balcony - perfect for enjoying a sunny breakfast or afternoon tea after a day on the slopes. That’s not all…there’s also an extensive couple’s walk-in dressing room and an oversized double bathtub. Relaxation is also taken seriously with a Nordic bath on the terrace and a private spa for Cheval Blanc’s signature Guerlain treatments.

When staying in the chalet, you also have access to the hotel’s incredible facilities, not least the hotel’s three Michelin-star restaurant, Le 1947. With only five tables, this exclusive restaurant showcases the Savoie region through the use of superb ingredients treated with the utmost care. For foodies, this is a bucket list restaurant in the Alps.

If you prefer something a ‘little’ more low-key, then Cheval Blanc has several other restaurants to choose from, including bustling brassiere, Le Restaurant de Cheval Blanc Courchevel, and La Terrasse de Cheval Blanc, an al fresco suntrap ideal for lunchtime dining or post-ski cocktails in the warmer months. Then there’s the hotel spa, complete with hair salon and Guerlain beauty experts, not to mention an indoor infinity-edge swimming pool and outdoor Russian banya and hot tub.

If you’re looking for the ultimate piste-side palace, Cheval Blanc is hard to beat.

2.Grandes Alpes Private Hotel & Spa: Best Courchevel hotel for personal service

Located on the edge of the gentle Bellecote piste, just above the main lift station and steps from the shops, bars and restaurants, Grande Alpes epitomises alpine elegance and sophistication.

Nine spacious three or four-bedroom private apartments, designed by master interior designer, Jean-Marc Mouchet, offer a home away from home. The apartments have their own open-plan living and dining area, professional kitchen and wine cellar. Four-bedroom Emerald, on the top floor, has a vast living area, mini spa with massage room and steam room and a dedicated children’s play area, whilst three-bedroom Amethyst has a south-facing terrace with a hot tub.

Each apartment also has its own private butler service, meaning you can have pretty much whatever you desire whenever you want it! From your skis and poles laid out for you in the piste in the morning to private in-room dining in your apartment, the service is second to none.

Whilst you can order your favorite dishes at any time of the day or night, it is also worth paying a visit to the 20-seat Restaurant Sylvestre Wahid. Here you can enjoy a degustation set menu of 10 dishes including signature specialities such as Roscoff crab and lemon-seaweed dessert. Post-skiing, there’s also a wonderful selection of pastries, hot chocolates and crepes available in the Bellini Lounge Bar. Later in the evening, listen to live music as you indulge in the superb selection of spirits, liqueurs and cocktails.

Then of course there’s the spa offering a selection of massage treatments and beauty therapies. Total bliss!

Showcasing a unique combination of traditional chalet-style architecture and contemporary elegance, L’Apogée is a ski-in/ski-out five-star hotel located close to the first station of the Jardin Alpin gondola. The result of a collaboration between Parisian designers, India Madahvi and Joseph Dirand, L’Apogée is certainly one of the most stylish hotels in Courchevel. Think plaid wool textiles, burgundy leathers, green velvet and opulent marble bathrooms.

Like the design, the food is exceptional with two restaurants serving French and Japanese cuisine. There’s also Le Bar de L’Apogee which is perfect for a lobster club sandwich by day and fillet steak at night.

In addition to the hotel’s 53 stylish suites, L’Apogee also has two chic chalets - L’Amarante and L’Alpensia.
