Stylish Val d'Isere apartment

Set high above Val d'Isere, Apartment Glacier is part of Le Refuge de Solaise, France's highest hotel. At 2,551m, it benefits from breathtaking mountain views and direct access to the slopes. The hotel is only accessible via the Solaise bubble lift in winter, so once the lift closes, you are cocooned in your apartment at the top of the mountain.

Blending exposed stone and rustic wood interiors with atmospheric lighting and wood chip fires, this cosy mountain retreat is both stylish and welcoming. Set over two floors, Glacier has an open-plan living area with comfy sofas, a dining table with epic mountain views and a well-equipped kitchen. Its various balconies offer incredible views over the resort.

Five double bedrooms (with two queen-size beds and three king-size/twin beds) plus a dormitory (with two single beds) accommodate up to 12 guests in pure comfort.

Three bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, whilst the other three rooms share a large shower room.

When staying at Apartment Glacier, you have access to all the facilities of the hotel, including a sublime spa with a 25m indoor pool and two Jacuzzis with views of the snowy peaks. There are also two hammams, an outdoor sauna and four treatment rooms. A hairdressing salon is open by appointment only from 9 am to 8 pm. Keeping fit couldn't be easier. The hotel's gym has the very best Technogym equipment, including a bike, cross-trainer, treadmill, a multi-gym and a rowing machine.

There are also several dining options: Le Refuge offers authentic Savoyard dishes, Le Petit Refuge on the slopes, open for lunch, serves pizza, pasta and salad dishes, whilst La Cabane du Refuge offers fast food options until 15:30. The Refuge Bar welcomes guests from 10 am to midnight.

Children (and adults) have access to a spacious "Kids' Room", equipped with table football and a huge TV. There is also a meeting room, should you be thinking about a corporate ski trip.

Insider Insights

Location & Access:

In winter, access to the Refuge de Solaise is exclusively via the Solaise gondola, which leaves from the snow front. Once at the top, you'll need to walk 200m downhill in the snow to reach the hotel. The gondola lifts are open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They are also open on Fridays and Saturdays (except during school holidays) from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. until April 20. During school holidays, the gondola lifts are open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Outside these times, you will not be able to access the Refuge de Solaise. Please take this into account for your arrival time.

Hotel Facilities:

Le Refuge restaurant is open daily for lunch (12:00 to 15:30) and for dinner Sunday to Thursday (19:00 to 21:00 & reserved exclusively for hotel guests). On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant is open to outside guests, so hotel guests will need to book.
For children staying at the Refuge, from the age of 4 upwards, a play area supervised by activity leaders is available from when they return from skiing until early evening, with games and activities.
