Dear Friends of Leo Trippi,
When we founded Leo Trippi we set out to become a market leader in our niche of luxury ski chalets – delivering exceptional holidays to our clients. Today we are proud to have been recognised as the ‘World’s Best Ski Travel Agent’ for five consecutive years cementing our place as a leading authority. We have slowly expanded our offering to include some of the best villas and tailor-made journeys ensuring we maintain our expertise along the way.
We have a strong Swiss heritage dating back to 1882 when my great-grandfather, Leo Trippi, ran some of the most iconic destination hotels in the Engadin and Italy. Our roots remain firmly in the Alps with offices in the flagship Swiss resorts of St Moritz, Verbier & Zermatt as well as the United Kingdom and Russia.
Together with my co-founders Oli Stastny and Auret van Zyl we believe that the traditional approach to travel planning is the way forward. With comprehensive destination knowledge and strong relationships with partners and clients, it is our experienced and multilingual team which makes us so special. We regularly visit our destinations and meet with our suppliers to make sure we are offering the best service to our clients who come from all corners of the world.
We encourage you to call us and experience for yourself how we are different.
Leo Trippi was born into the world of hospitality in 1882 in Samedan, a small town close to St.Moritz.
Out of three siblings, Leo Trippi was always predestined to take over the management of the family hotel in Pontresina, which was founded by his father in 1857 and was run by his mother Hortensia during extremely challenging years.
In 1907 Leo Trippi acquired the Grand Hôtel des Temples in Sicily, Italy and by 1913 his dynasty has grown to four hotels, with three located in Pontresina, Switzerland.
Through word of mouth, Leo Trippi’s hotels gained a reputation for luxury, attracting some of the most important families in Europe, including Prince Leopold of Bayern, the Prince and Princess of Siam and Prince Heinrich von Hohenzollern. The Prince of Paris and Princess of France even chose the Grand Hôtel as their honeymoon destination.
After his death in 1952, Leo Trippi left behind a legacy of being one of the greatest hoteliers of his time.
After more than half a century, a descendent of the Trippi family, Florian Steiger, rediscovered his legacy, and together with Auret Van Zyl and Oliver Stastny, luxury travel company ‘Leo Trippi’ was born.
The company carries the Trippi family crest and seeks to continue Leo Trippi’s long-standing tradition of providing international travellers with the most exclusive rental properties and experiences around the world.
