Crans and Montana are in fact two separate towns, their centres a mile apart from each other. However, a number of low-rise buildings have merged the two towns together, with each centre retaining its individual character.

Crans Montana is easily accessed by car in around 2.5 hours from Geneva airport. Sion airport is much closer but has fewer flights. Whilst there is not a railway station in Crans Montana it is possible to reach the resort by train, completing the journey on the funicular railway from Sierre to Montana Gare.

How to get to Crans Montana?

Whilst Sion is the closest airport to Crans Montana (30 km) the most popular way of reaching Crans Montana is via Geneva airport, around a 2 hour drive away. It is also possible to reach Crans Montana by train. Direct trains run from Geneva airport to Sierre (and on to Brig) approximately every 30 minutes. From Sierre you can take the funicular to Montana Gare which takes around 15 minutes.

What to do in Crans Montana?

Famous for its sunshine, Crans Montana is popular in both summer and winter with a plethora of activities to enjoy.
