Located high above Zermatt, this truly is the ultimate couple’s hideaway. Accessible only on foot, sledge or skis, this 300-year-old mountain cottage offers total privacy and peace and quiet. To access the cottage, you need to catch the funicular up the mountain to Sunnegga. From here it is a 20-minute walk or just a short ski away in winter.
Transformed by renowned architect Heinz Julen, the one-bedroom cottage offers magnificent views of the Matterhorn. Breakfast is served at Chez Vrony restaurant which is just 100 metres from the chalet giving you the chance to take a romantic morning stroll together before hitting the slopes or hiking some of the beautiful trails.
Zermatt itself has some excellent restaurants and it’s chocolate box car-free streets are lined with designer shops and boutiques - the perfect excuse to buy a special present or two.
