Discover Our Luxury Chalets in Zermatt

Zermatt is one of the best-known ski resorts in Switzerland. The Matterhorn gives it an identity few places can match, but its appeal runs much deeper than the setting alone. The village is entirely car-free, which gives Zermatt a very different feel from most major Alpine resorts.

Where to Stay in Zermatt

Zermatt is more spread out than many guests expect, and because the village is car-free, location deserves a little more thought than it might elsewhere. There are no true ski-in ski-out chalets in the way there are in some French ski resorts, but many luxury chalets in Zermatt are located near a bus stop or within walking distance of one of the three lift stations.

Zermatt Centre:
Best for being at the heart of village life, the centre suits guests who want restaurants, bars, shops and the station all within easy reach. It is the most convenient choice for those who like to walk to dinner and make the most of the atmosphere in the evenings.

Near Sunnega:
Best for easy access to one of the main lift points, this part of the village works well for skiers who want to be first on the slopes in the morning while remaining fairly central.

This stunning Swiss town has cozy chalets, epic skiing, and one of the highest mountains in Europe.

Why Choose Zermatt for a Luxury Ski Holiday

The History of Zermatt:

Surrounded by 38 summits above 4000m, Zermatt is a year-round resort that attracts visitors worldwide. This blend of cultures is just one of the many things we love about this car-free town.

With a history stretching back to the 13th century, you can feel the presence of past generations as you stroll along the narrow lanes in the Old Village, past ancient, weathered chalets, barns and stables.

Despite its traditional past, Zermatt boasts a contemporary culinary scene, a modernised lift system and luxury chalets equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities, making it a vibrant, bustling town.

There is something extremely special about skiing in the shadow of the Matterhorn and there are so many incredible restaurants too. My favourite is Fluhalp. I love their hearty salads and cheese fondue but make sure you leave room for the utterly delicious pancakes for dessert!
