Kronplatz is known for its diverse range of slopes, catering to all skill levels. The ski area in Bruneck-Kronplatz is divided into three main areas; Pracken, Miara and Ried, all of which are easily accessible from the resort. It's important to note that the grading system in Bruneck-Kronplatz is slightly tougher compared to other resorts, so make sure you take this into account when planning your route.
Beginners can take advantage of the gentle, wide runs near the base before progressing to gentle blue runs like Plateau and Miara. If you're still developing your skills, we recommend taking the gondola back down to avoid some of the more challenging runs lower down.
Pracken and Ried areas are ideal for intermediate skiers, offering a variety of wide, flowing red runs. For an exhilarating experience, try the Pre da Peres run, a long and enjoyable red run that winds its way down from the summit.
More advanced skiers will enjoy the resort’s challenging black runs, including the famous "Sylvester" and "Hernegg" descents, which drop from the peak of Kronplatz Mountain. There are also several off-piste areas for experienced skiers, from steep chutes to vast, snow-filled bowls. One popular off-piste route is the Arndt run, accessed from the top of the Kronplatz 2000 lift. If you do decide to venture off-piste, you must hire a local guide or instructor who can ensure your safety and guide you to the best spots. Snowboarders and freestylers are also well-catered for, with a large snow park featuring jumps, rails, and half-pipes.
How to get to Kronplatz
If travelling by air, the closest airports to Kronplatz are Innsbruck Airport in Austria (105 km), Bolzano Airport in Italy (85 km), Munich Airport in Germany (300 km) and Venice Marco Polo Airport in Italy (220 km). From these airports, the drive to Kronplatz ranges from 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on your starting point.
Alternatively, you can reach Kronplatz by train. The nearest train station is in Brunico (Bruneck), located just 20 minutes from the resort. Regular train services connect Brunico to other major cities in Italy and Austria.
If travelling by car, Kronplatz is well-connected via the Italian A22 motorway. From the motorway, take the Bressanone/Val Pusteria exit, and then follow signs to Brunico and Kronplatz. The drive offers scenic views of the Dolomites and is an ideal option for those seeking flexibility in their travel plans.
