The most popular base is San Vigilio, a traditional village with an attractive wooded setting. Around 2 km long, the village has two lift stations north of the main cluster of hotels and Kronplatz ski apartments and chalets. This quiet village has a few bars and pubs for apres, as well as a choice of eateries where you can try the traditional Ladin cuisine.

Skiing in Kronplatz
Kronplatz skiing provides an abundance of terrain for every level of skier to enjoy. Found in the heart of the Pustertal Valley, this luxury resort offers 120 km of slopes and is one of the top winter sport destinations in the Dolomites.
For beginner skiers visiting the resort, there is a great run from the top of the shortest gondola straight back to the resort centre. This area is ideal for beginners with a wide variety of blue runs perfect for working on your technique.
For the intermediates of the group, there are plenty of red runs located in the ‘Panetone’ area, whilst advanced skiers will find some long and challenging runs on the other side of Panetone with runs that have previously been used by the Italian World Cup team as a training base. For further challenging pistes, more experienced skiers can also catch the bus to Alta Badia and enjoy everything on offer here too.
Located between the slopes of Belvedere and Plateau, the Kronplatz-Plan de Corones snowpark is great fun for both beginners and freestyle veterans. With an easy line and medium line, families can also enjoy the snowpark with a special family fun line which features a tunnel and steep curves.

This luxury resort offers many leisure activities for the whole family to enjoy all year round. During the winter season, the focus is very much on skiing. The resort provides various child-friendly areas, as well as numerous skiing courses and family-friendly restaurants.
Every day from 1 pm to 2 pm, the mountaintop Cima-Plan de Corones restaurant provides qualified childcare professionals to help children enjoy lunchtime, whilst Croniworld in Reischach is the perfect place for children to learn and play making friends along the way.
Part of the ski school, during the winter season, Croniworld introduces children from the age of 3 years and up to the world of winter sports. Whilst the older children in the group can head over to the Kids Safety Park to enjoy numerous banked turns and tunnels.
For the non-skiers of the group, the resort offers plenty of alternative activities too. From ice skating to snowshoeing, there are also lots of fun-filled events during the peak weeks of the season.

Further afield are the international airports of Innsbruck (105 km), Venice (205 km), Verona (223 km) and Munich (302 km). International trains connect to Fortezza-Franzensfeste where a change is necessary. Local trains from here run to the Pustertal Valley.
