Another Chamonix restaurant with a view to make the list, Refuge du Montenvers is positioned at the edge of the Mer de Glace, a half-hour train journey from Chamonix . The menu features regional cuisine including tartiflette and fondue and is open only for lunch to non-hotel guests. The hotel is also home to the Panoramique Mer de Glace, a bistro with mesmerising views of the Aguilles du Dru peaks and spectacular valley glacier.
Situated on the summit of Aiguille du Midi at 3842m, this year-round restaurant is one of the highest lift accessed restaurants in Europe. Les Vielles Luges (Les Houches)
One of the cosiest Chamonix mountain restaurants, Les Vielles Luges is accessible in winter on skis from the main pistes of Les Houches, or by a 20 minute hike from the Maison Neuve chairlift. This trendy Swedish restaurant has a great location right on Rue du Moulin in the centre of town. Contemporary cuisine with flavours of Asia in a classic dish defines the menu and diners are advised to order two to three dishes per person to share.
Designed with sharing in mind, Mumma is the vision of chef David Lillieroth. Serving Pan-Asian cuisine, indulge in fried mushroom gyozo, steamed duck dumpling with grated fois gras or panko fried shrimps to name just a few of the mouth-watering dishes on the menu.
