Whether you are looking for local specialities, fine dining or something simple, Verbier has a diverse array of restaurants. The resort is also well-known for its lively après-ski, with various bars and nightclubs providing live music after hours. With many years of in-resort experience in Verbier, we have had time to dine at the very best restaurants so have compiled our top recommendations below.

Mountain restaurants

Black Tap

Situated in the Igloo building at Gentianes, Black Tap serves its signature burgers, craft beers, and shakes. Ideal for both skiers and non-skiers, this casual eatery offers a lively atmosphere, though service can be slow during peak hours. Reservations are not accepted.

Cabane Mont Fort

Situated on the stunning run from Mont Fort to La Chaux, this mountain hut is known for its relaxed atmosphere and hearty food. Cabane Mont Fort is the ideal place to enjoy a tartiflette alongside spectacular views from its spacious terrace. Table reservations for the restaurant can be made outdoors at noon but are exclusively indoors at 2 pm.

Chez Dany

Accessed via the piste from Ruinettes (stay left and follow the signs), Chez Dany is a must-visit for traditional Swiss cuisine and incredible views. For dinner, take the snow taxi up and enjoy a magical walk back through the forest.

Igloo du Mont-Fort

At Europe’s highest fondue spot, enjoy Swiss classics alongside spectacular alpine views at Igloo du Mont Fort. Don’t miss the champagne fondue or the Swiss Rock Coffee, made with espresso, apricot schnapps, cane sugar, and whipped cream.

Le Carrefour

A popular destination at the top of the Le Rouge piste, Carrefour features panoramic terraces and a menu of Alpine favourites, including rösti and hot-stone-cooked meats. Great location for non-skiers and dinner reservations too.

La Marlénaz

Accessible off-piste from Savoleyres or via a snow taxi returning by sledge, this traditional restaurant offers exquisite local specialities. The sunny terrace at La Marlénaz is a favourite for enjoying mountain views.

La Marmotte

Located on the Savoleyres slopes, La Marmotte is renowned for its croûte and regional dishes. Accessible by skiing down or walking up from Carrefour (20 minutes), its terrace is perfect for a sunny lunch.

La Pasay

Overlooking the Mont Blanc massif, this newly renovated restaurant combines a relaxed vibe with excellent local cuisine. Located in Bruson, Le Pasay is a hidden gem worth exploring.

L'Inkontro

This revamped restaurant (formerly Chalet Carlsberg) blends Italian flair with Wallis terroir. Perched at 2,450m, L'Inkontro is a stylish spot for a memorable mountain meal.

Le Dahu

Located at the bottom of the La Chaux ski area, this bustling restaurant offers a mix of Swiss classics, homemade pizzas (arguably the best in Verbier), and modern European dishes. Its panoramic terrace is a top spot for lunch. Below the main restaurant, a self-service area with fast food and a soft play zone for children ensures everyone is catered for. Le Dahu is accessible to non-skiers.

Le Mayentzet

Nestled at the top of the Mayentzet chairlift, this traditional Swiss mountain restaurant is conveniently positioned on the main piste from Ruinettes to Carrefour. Recently refurbished, Le Mayentzet is a favourite spot for a hot chocolate on the terrace with stunning alpine vistas.

Le Sonalon

Nestled off the Savoleyres slopes, Le Sonalon offers refined, gourmet dishes crafted with local and seasonal ingredients. Whether skiing in or arriving by road, it’s an exceptional spot for both lunch and dinner.

Ô Bois Sauvage

Located in Les Masses, this charming restaurant is a destination in itself. With breathtaking views over the Val D’Hérens valley, it features a cosy bar and restaurant showcasing seasonal, local produce from the Valais region. Ô Bois Sauvage is perfect for a long ski day combined with a leisurely lunch.

Chalet d'Adrien

This luxury Relais & Châteaux hotel offers two distinct dining experiences: the Michelin-starred Table d’Adrien and the more traditional Le Grenier. With a sun-drenched terrace boasting breathtaking views, Chalet d'Adrien is ideal for elegant lunches or indulgent dinners.

La Channe by Marco Bassi

La Channe combines an elegant ambience with modern European cuisine. Featuring an open kitchen, you can watch chefs prepare your meal for a unique culinary experience.

La Cordée

La Cordée elevates Swiss dining with its fine-dining menu featuring local, seasonal ingredients. The interior exudes sophistication, making it a top choice if you're seeking a refined meal.

Brasserie 1519

Named for Verbier’s altitude, Brasserie 1519 is W Verbier’s all-day restaurant. Sergi Arola and Jean-Philippe Dupas bring Alpine and Mediterranean influences to a menu of tapas, tartares and dishes from the grill. It works equally well for lunch after a morning on the slopes or a more leisurely dinner, with lighter plates available during the afternoon.

St Bernard

At Experimental Chalet, St Bernard serves Alpine food in a dining room with burgundy tones, pale wood and a fireplace. Chef Rudy Ballin’s menu draws on mountain cheeses, local meats and seasonal vegetables, accompanied by Valais wines. You can begin with an aperitif at the restaurant bar before dinner; afterwards, the Experimental Cocktail Club is upstairs, and the Farm Club is downstairs if you feel like staying out.

Taratata

Taratata elevates the dining experience with its refined sharing plates and exquisite décor. Specialising in meat dishes, this restaurant is perfect for romantic dinners or celebratory occasions accompanied by expertly crafted cocktails.

Casual dining

Al Capone

A classic Verbier favourite, Al Capone is known for its wood-fired pizzas and a broad selection of Italian and Swiss dishes. This family-friendly restaurant is conveniently located on the main road between the Brunet bus stop and Savoleyres, making it a great choice for casual dining with family and friends.

Borsalina

This family-owned Italian gem is renowned for its traditional cuisine and affordable prices. Just a short walk from Place Centrale, Borsalino is a favourite for hearty pasta dishes and classic Italian comfort food.

Cafe Goomah

Café Goomah blends New York-inspired loft aesthetics with Italian culinary flair. From wood-fired pizzas to sharing platters, the menu delights all palates. The venue also hosts private dining for up to 15 guests, making it a chic spot for group celebrations.

Fer à Cheval

A Verbier institution, Fer à Cheval is renowned for its après-ski vibes and hearty menu. Indulge in steak tartare, croûte, and pizza in its cosy dining areas or soak up the sun on the spacious outdoor terrace.

La Table Verbier

At the foot of the Esserts piste, La Table is the new restaurant from Pierre-Jean and Tibo, formerly of La Table du 22. Stop in for a brasserie lunch after skiing, or return for dinner, when the cooking takes a more elaborate turn, and some dishes are carved at the table. The wood-burning fireplace makes the dining room especially inviting in winter, while the wine list favours bottles from the Valais and neighbouring France.

Le Shed

Known for its gourmet Swiss burgers and inventive cocktails, Le Shed is a hotspot in the heart of Verbier. Run by a group of Swedish friends, this vibrant eatery doesn’t take reservations, so arrive early to secure a table.

Cafes

Arctic Juice

If you're health-conscious, you will enjoy Arctic Juice's fresh smoothies, organic coffee, salad boxes, and sandwiches. Situated near the Médran lift station, this busy café is perfect for a nutritious breakfast or a quick lunch to-go. Plan ahead during peak times to beat the morning rush.

La Cucina

Perfect for self-catered guests in Verbier, La Cucina offers a variety of ready-to-go meals, including salad pots, soups, and fresh juices. Their ‘fait maison’ range allows you to enjoy homemade flavours at your convenience.

Milk Bar

A family favourite, Milk Bar is known for its delicious hot chocolates, milkshakes, homemade cakes, and pancakes. Conveniently located opposite the Farinet, it’s a great stop for breakfast or an après-ski treat with children

Offshore Cafe

An American-style diner near the Médran lift, Offshore serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch until 7 pm. Its casual, family-friendly vibe and freeskiing films make it a popular choice for après-ski or a fun dining experience.

Traditional restaurants

Au Vieux Verbier

A quintessential Swiss experience, Au Vieux Verbier specialises in its signature meat gallow, where guests cook tender local beef on a hot “potence” served with an array of sauces. Located near Médran, this restaurant boasts a sunny terrace, ideal for meeting family after a morning on the slopes.

Le Caveau

This cosy Swiss eatery specialises in Bagnard cuisine, offering cheese fondues, raclette, and other traditional dishes. With two evening sittings (7 PM and 9 PM), Le Caveau is ideal for groups looking to enjoy a classic Alpine meal.

Les Chamois

A warm, family-run establishment, Les Chamois serves Swiss favourites such as fondue, raclette, and hearty meat dishes. Its relaxed atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for enjoying traditional Alpine cuisine.

L'Ecurie

L’Ecurie offers a cosy dining experience with a menu focused on traditional Swiss favourites. The plats du jour are a highlight, making it a convenient and welcoming choice for lunch or dinner in the heart of Verbier.

La Grange

La Grange is a charming, family-run restaurant with two distinct experiences: gastronomic dining upstairs and regional specialities like raclette and fondue at La Pinte. Ideal for traditional Swiss fare in a warm atmosphere.

Les Moulins

International Cuisine

Aiseki Sushi

Inspired by Japanese Izakaya dining, Aiseki Sushi offers a relaxed gastropub ambience with a focus on fresh sushi and sashimi. Conveniently located near Place Centrale, the restaurant provides a cosy dine-in experience as well as takeaway options. Open daily from 5 PM to 10 PM, it’s perfect for an evening meal.

Boca

Boca delivers a taste of Mexico to Verbier, blending authentic Mexican tapas with an Alpine twist. Known for its extensive margarita menu, Boca is perfect for lively evenings with friends or indulging in Mezcal-based cocktails.

U Yama

Located within the W Hotel, U-Yama serves elevated sushi and fusion dishes in a chic setting. By night, the venue transforms into a lively nightclub, offering an unforgettable evening experience.

Après-Ski Bars

On the Mountain:

Bar 1936

Located on the Mayentzet piste just below Ruinettes, Bar 1936 stands out with its distinctive yurts and lively atmosphere. A favourite for sunny afternoons, it offers plenty of outdoor seating and often features live music during spring. Easily accessible on foot from Carrefour Restaurant, it’s an idyllic spot to relax and enjoy the alpine vibes.

Ice Cube

Conveniently situated near the Les Ruinettes lift, this lively bar is a hotspot for après-ski with regular DJ performances. Ice Cube is suitable for both skiers and non-skiers.

Le Mouton Noir

Combining fine dining and après-ski, Le Mouton Noir is a Verbier favourite. Its panoramic terrace is the largest in the area, while the self-service restaurant below caters to those seeking quicker bites.

Pub Mont Fort

A seasonnaire favourite near the Médran lift, Pub Mont Fort is known for its lively atmosphere, Jaeger bombs, and fancy dress parties. Early après on the terrace with snacks like nachos is a must.

In Town:

Farinet Après-Ski

The Après-Ski Bar at Hotel Farinet is a legendary hotspot in Verbier, known for its lively atmosphere and energetic vibe. From 4 pm to 9 pm, the bar transforms into a buzzing venue with live music, often featuring local bands or DJs. The extensive drinks menu at Farinet includes pitchers of beer, cocktails, and shots, making it the perfect spot for groups to celebrate together.

Le Rouge

Famed for its après-ski scene, Le Rouge is a must-visit for its lively atmosphere and excellent food. Enjoy crêpes for lunch or live music in the evening.

Living Room @ W

A chic après spot with panoramic views, Living Room @ W is a modern bar offering signature cocktails, late-night snacks, and a glamorous vibe.

Lumi

Lumi’sterrace is ideal for soaking up the sun with world-class cocktails, an extensive gin menu, and a vibrant après atmosphere complete with live music and tapas.

No 8

This café-bar is a local favourite for après drinks or pre-club vibes. Open from early morning until late, No 8 offers a friendly atmosphere, light bites, and an excellent terrace.

Farm Club

A Verbier institution, the Farm Club is the place to be seen, welcoming everyone from locals to celebrities. A glamorous setting with an eclectic mix of music, this club is particularly popular at weekends. Book a table in advance for a guaranteed spot at this lively hotspot.

Farinet's Lounge Bar

Offering a more refined après-ski experience, Farinet’s Lounge Bar is the place to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails in a relaxed, cosy atmosphere by the open fire. With a particular focus on gin, this bar is ideal for an intimate, stylish evening.

Rabbit Hutch

Open from 6 pm to 2 am, Rabbit Hutch is bursting with personality. This intimate spot below Chez Martin serves a wide range of cocktails, local wines, and beers, with live music nights to elevate the après-ski experience.

South

Located underneath Farinet, South offers an opulent setting with resident DJs to fuel the party. The atmosphere is electric, making it the perfect spot for those looking to continue their après-ski into the late hours.
