Contemporary alpine chalet in Le Hameau

Set beside a small lake in the exclusive Le Hameau area, Chalet Makini enjoys one of Verbier’s most private residential settings. Terraces and balconies wrap around the chalet, opening up views across the water and towards the surrounding mountains, while Les Esserts and the Savoleyres lift are both close by.

Recently expanded, the chalet brings together old timber, natural stone, oak floors, contemporary furniture and modern art. The result is alpine in character, but far from traditional. The main living areas are arranged around an 18th-century stone fireplace, with comfortable seating, warm textures and space for the group to gather before and after dinner.

The dining room is one of the chalet’s more impressive spaces, set beneath vaulted ceilings and a cascading glass chandelier.

Alongside it, the kitchen is well-equipped, while the wine cellar is a notable feature for guests who enjoy pairing dinner with something special from the collection.

Chalet Makini sleeps up to 14 guests across seven en-suite double bedrooms. The bedrooms are arranged across three levels, with two master-style rooms enjoying lake or mountain views, and several rooms opening onto balconies or terraces.

Makini’s spa is one of the chalet’s defining features, with an indoor pool, hammam, Finnish sauna with red-light therapy, hot tub, gym and massage room creating an extensive wellness area on the lower level. A water wall, fountain and Japanese-style floating steps give the space a more distinctive character than a typical chalet spa.

Entertainment is also well covered, with three separate living areas, all with fireplaces and two with pull-down projector screens. This gives larger groups room to spread out, whether children are watching a film, adults are gathering by the fire, or guests are looking for a quieter corner away from the main room.

Good to Know

Space & Layout:

The bedrooms all have fixed double beds, so the chalet may be better suited to families or couples rather than mixed groups of friends.

Wellness & Amenities

The space features the first pool in Switzerland with integrated patented lighting system by Sicis which creates a dramatic backlighting while swimming.
Parking is available for 4 cars (2 exterior & 2 internal)

Makini is located in the exclusive Hameau development, within skiable distance to Le Rouge piste.

Distance to Piste: 3-minute walk to beginner slopes at Les Esserts or a few metres walk and short ski to the bottom of Le Rouge drag lift.
Distance to Ski Lifts: 2-minute drive to Savoleyres or 6-minute drive to Médran.
Distance to Verbier Centre: 5-minute drive to Place Centrale
