The land of cheese and silky smooth chocolate, Switzerland is a gourmet paradise offering a vast selection of mouth-watering national dishes. From raclette to rösti, Switzerland bears witness to the best of German, Italian and French cuisine. With so many culinary delights on offer, it's hard to narrow down the options, so we have picked out a few of our favourite dining experiences in the Swiss Alps.

1. Flualp, Zermatt

Stay in Zermatt

Situated on the edge of the piste coming down from the Rothorn ski area in Zermatt, this delightful restaurant welcomes skiers and hikers alike for a well-earned break. Greeted by the mouth-watering smell of cheese fondue and the upbeat sound of live music, it’s time to remove your skis, leave your poles outside and enjoy some superb cuisine.

Dishes range from tasty salads and local meat platters to Swiss classics. For those with a sweet tooth don't miss out on the decadent crêpes. Providing one of the best views of the Matterhorn, you won’t just be drooling over your meal at Fluhalp.

For those looking to return to Zermatt in style we would recommend staying at chalet Grace in Zermatt. A luxurious wellness area combined with glorious views over Zermatt and the Matterhorn makes Chalet Grace one of Zermatt’s most desirable properties.

2. Le Mont Blanc, Crans Montana

Stay in Crans Montana

Located in the beautiful LeCrans Hotel, Le Mont Blanc offers a delightful gastronomic experience with breathtaking views of the Valais Alps. A Michelin-star to its name, Le Mont Blanc uses top-quality ingredients to create dishes full of flavour such as seared scallops with a red wine shallot confit and creamy polenta.

Should you have any dietary requirements, chefs at Le Mont Blanc can easily change ingredients to suit your needs so you won’t be missing out. Wine lovers will also be flying high above the Alps with an extensive wine list on offer comprising the best local and international wines.

3. Alpenbick, Saas Fee

Stay in Saas Fee

Nestled in the woods above the luxury village of Saas-Fee is Alpenblick, a delightful gem of a cafe. The cafe is a popular stop for hikers on their way up to Hannig and specialises in simple homemade treats made from fresh ingredients. Should you not wish to hike, Alpenblick can also be reached by taking the Hannig cable car up the mountain followed by a short walk down.

With a genuine Swiss atmosphere, you can relax by the fire with a piece of warm apple strudel and vanilla sauce, watching as the snow falls outside. After an indulgent visit, the brave of heart can slide back down to the village on a toboggan. A family-friendly establishment, Alpenblick provides board games to keep children entertained and welcomes snowy-pawed friends too!

For those looking to stay in the charming village of Saas Fee we can highly recommend Chalet Simon. Centrally located, Chalet Simon provides the perfect base for a family holiday in the car-free resort of Saas Fee.

4. La Riva

Stay in Davos

Providing a beautiful view of Heidsee and a wonderful mountain panorama, it is clear to see how La Riva’s classic cuisine with a modern twist has been rewarded with a Michelin star.

Enjoy what head chef Dominique Schrotter has prepared for you with fresh local produce. From Terrine of Venison to Chestnut Cream soup, the menu at La Riva has something for everyone.

Located close to the centre of Davos Chalet Chocolate Box is a quaint property perfect for smaller families or couples. This quintessential Swiss chalet is perfectly located for enjoying all that the resort has to offer.

Stay in a luxury chalet in Switzerland and experience these mouth-watering restaurants for yourself.
