Read our guide to the best bars and restaurants in St Moritz, both on and off the mountain.

Here are our favourite places for lunch on the mountain, dinner in St Moritz, or a drink after skiing, along with a few restaurants worth visiting in the neighbouring villages.

For a quick starting point:

  • A long mountain lunch: Chasellas for its terrace and Langosteria for seafood
  • A special dinner: Da Vittorio or Ecco
  • Something more relaxed: La Scarpetta for pasta, Riccardo's for pizza, or Stüvetta Moritz for fondue
  • Drinks after skiing: Paradiso for its music and terrace, or RooBar for a more casual stop

Mountain Restaurants in St Moritz

Alpetta

Alpetta sits beside the Chastelets slope and is perfect when you want a hearty lunch. Meat comes from the open-fire grill, with dishes such as chicken and ribs alongside Alpine favourites including polenta and Älplermagronen. Take a table on the terrace if the weather allows; inside, it feels like a traditional mountain hut.

Chasellas

Located near Suvretta House, Chasellas works for both lunch and dinner on the mountain. The lunchtime menu has Swiss dishes such as rösti and schnitzel, while dinner is a more elaborate affair. It is a good option for non-skiers too.

Kuhstall

As its name suggests, Kuhstall occupies a former cowshed on the descent towards Sils, on the Corvatsch side of the valley. It is a cosy choice for a lunch of local dishes, with a terrace for warmer winter days. Non-skiers can reach it via a winter hiking trail.

Langosteria St Moritz

Seafood may not be the first thing you think of ordering on a ski holiday. At Chantarella, Langosteria provides something different from the usual mountain cuisine with a menu centred around fish, shellfish and Italian dishes, plus a terrace overlooking the Engadin.

Salastrains

Located in Corviglia, Salastrains brings together Swiss dishes and international options. The menu features time-honoured recipes, including local venison, all served with warm hospitality and stunning views.

Trutz

At the top of the Suvretta-Randolins chairlift, Trutz is the place for barley soup, rösti or a generous plate of Kaiserschmarrn. There is a large terrace with views across the Upper Engadin.

White Marmot

At 2,486 metres on Corviglia, White Marmot has a colourful dining room and a terrace overlooking the Engadin. Chef Marco Moroni’s menu includes venison entrecôte, while the Corviglia Magnum ice cream dessert is finished at your table.

Restaurants for a special dinner

Da Vittorio

The Cerea family’s restaurant, Da Vittorio at the Carlton Hotel is one of St. Moritz’s notable restaurants for dinner. Its two Michelin stars and Italian menu make it perfect for a special occasion. It's known for its simple yet masterfully prepared dishes, including the signature pasta dish, paccheri alla Vittorio.

Ecco St Moritz

At Giardino Mountain in Champfèr, chef Reto Brändli’s Ecco holds two Michelin stars. Choose between a four- or five-course tasting menu, with dishes such as John Dory with razor clams and grapefruit, and pork with shiitake, kimchi and black pudding. There is also a separate menu of Brändli’s classics, including langoustine with pumpkin, red curry and caviar.

Talvo

Talvo occupies a farmhouse dating from 1658 in Champfèr, a short drive from central St Moritz. Chef Kevin Fernandez and host Lisa Carlevero run the restaurant, where Mediterranean influences sit alongside the building’s Engadin history.

Grand Restaurant Les Saisons

Inside the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, Les Saisons serves Swiss and French dishes in a grand hotel dining room. Dishes include a sumptuous rack of lamb, and there is an impressive array of wines.

Swiss and Italian restaurants

Chesa Veglia

You could visit Chesa Veglia more than once and have a different dinner each time. The old farmhouse houses Pizzeria Heuboden, where the Dama Bianca pizza comes with cheese and black truffle; Grill Chadafö for meat and fish; Patrizier Stuben for Swiss cooking; and Carigiet Fondue Stübli for fondue. Decide which room you want when booking.

Da Adriano

Named after maître d' Adriano Feraco, this elegant Italian restaurant in the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski offers an authentic dining experience. The sophisticated interior of Da Adriano, with its wine racks and parquet flooring, sets the stage for classics such as spaghetti with caviar and a succulent duo of beef.

Kulm Country Club by Mauro Colagreco

Beside the Olympic Bob Run, the Kulm Country Club combines a restaurant and bar in a building designed by Norman Foster. Mauro Colagreco’s menus draw on the mountains and his approach to cooking over fire. Perfect for lunch or an early evening drink if you are nearby.

Kulm Pizzeria

For a less formal dinner at the Kulm Hotel, head to its pizzeria. Wood-fired pizza is the reason to come, although the kitchen also serves Italian starters and other dishes. The wood-panelled dining room gives it the feel of an established hotel restaurant rather than a quick pizza stop.

The View

At Grace La Margna, The View looks out over Lake St Moritz through tall windows. The Mediterranean menu includes dishes such as lemon risotto, grilled octopus, and stone-oven pizza.

Stüvetta Moritz

Also at Grace La Margna, Stüvetta Moritz is worth considering for a Swiss dinner. Fondue, rösti and Zurich-style veal are among its dishes. If you are staying in St. Moritz and fancy fondue one evening without travelling to a mountain restaurant, this is a good option.

La Scarpetta

For a relaxed dinner, La Scarpetta serves fresh pasta from a short menu, including a pasta of the day, alongside a well-chosen wine list. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025.

Riccardo's

At Hotel Piz in St Moritz-Bad, Riccardo’s serves pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes. The cosy yet modern ambience makes it an inviting choice for a relaxed meal with friends and family.

International restaurants in St Moritz

Amaru

At the Kulm Hotel, chef Claudia Canessa draws on Peruvian cuisine for Amaru’s menu. Start with a Pisco Sour, then order several plates for the table. End the meal on a refreshing note with homemade sorbets featuring flavours like mango, yuzu, and lemongrass.

La Coupole-Matsuhisa

Badrutt’s Palace houses La Coupole-Matsuhisa in its former indoor tennis hall. The Japanese-Peruvian menu includes familiar Matsuhisa dishes such as black cod with miso and yellowtail with jalapeño.

Neora

Neora brings Greek cooking to the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski. The menu is designed for sharing, with hand-shaped pitta, olive oil and dishes cooked over an open fire, including souvla.

Beefbar

At Grace La Margna, Beefbar centres its dinner menu on grilled Wagyu, Kobe and Black Angus, alongside smaller dishes such as Angus tacos and Wagyu kebabs.

Kronenstübli, Pontresina

A warm and elegant atmosphere sets the stage for Kronenstübli’s exquisite fine dining. French and Italian influences shape the menu. Pre-order the canard à la presse (pressed duck) for a spectacular culinary experience. Kronenstübli is located in Pontresina, around a 10- to 12-minute drive from St. Moritz.

Best Après-Ski Bars in St Moritz

Hossa Bar

Located on the descent to Surlej, this is an après-ski must-stop for skiers looking to soak up the sun with a drink in hand. Known for its hearty tarte flambées and lively atmosphere, Hossa Bar transforms every Friday night into a party scene for Snow Night—sometimes with a DJ on special event nights.

Paradiso Mountain Club

There’s no après quite like it. Perched on a sun-soaked terrace with panoramic views of Lake St. Moritz, Paradiso is the ultimate scene for glamorous ski-and-be-seen types. Enjoy deep house beats, designer thermals, and indulgent treats like lobster rolls and flaming cognac-spiked Parapampoli. During peak season, the Music Deck hosts DJs from the King’s Social Club.

RooBar

For a more laid-back après vibe, RooBar is the closest thing St. Moritz has to a classic ski bum hangout. Expect a great selection of locally brewed beers, boozy hot chocolate, and live music on weekends. If you’re feeling peckish, check out Hauser’s Too Good To Go offerings for discounted surplus food.

Post-dinner drinks & nightlife in St Moritz

Altitude Bar

Located at the Kulm Hotel, Altitude Bar is a must for gin lovers, boasting one of the largest gin collections in the Upper Engadine. With live music and an adjoining cigar lounge, Altitude offers a refined setting for a nightcap.

Balthazar

Owned by the Gucci heirs, Balthazar is arguably St. Moritz’s most luxurious bar. Drinks are mixed with champagne instead of prosecco, and the Italian dishes—from pizza to fine dining—are exquisite. It’s also home to a Dom Pérignon selection and an elegant Cohiba Behike Habana Cigar Lounge.

Hemingway's

A legendary music bar where the party continues until sunrise. If you’re not lucky enough to score an invite to the members-only Dracula Club, Hemingway’s is the next best thing.

Quintessence Bar & Lounge

Quintessence is the lobby bar at the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski. Its cocktail list includes drinks made with Alpine botanicals alongside familiar classics, and there are wines, beers and bar snacks if you want to stay a little longer.
