Stylish Zermatt penthouse with Matterhorn views

Occupying the top two floors of Christiania Residence, Christiania Penthouse offers a central base in Zermatt, close to the main high street and within easy reach of the resort’s lift network. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise lift is around 500m away, while the Sunnegga funicular and Gornergrat railway can also be reached on foot or by taxi.

The main living and dining area sits on the upper floor, where the lift opens directly into the apartment. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors bring in plenty of natural light and open onto a south-facing balcony with views towards the Matterhorn. Inside, the room is arranged around a wood-burning fireplace, with a generous sitting area, a dining table for 18 and an open-plan kitchen with a small breakfast bar.

A cinema room sits just off the main living space, giving guests a separate place for films or children to relax in the evenings. The penthouse also has a private sauna, while the lower ground floor of the residence includes a shared gym, massage room and shower area.

Christiania Penthouse sleeps up to 14 guests across seven bedrooms, all located on the lower floor of the apartment. Each bedroom has a TV, desk and safe, and several open onto private or shared terraces. The master bedroom has Matterhorn views, a wood-burning fireplace, walk-in wardrobe, terrace access and a large en-suite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom and can be closed off from the rest of the floor to create a useful family suite.

Practical facilities include a ski room with heated boot warmers and private lockers for each apartment, as well as a lift running throughout the building.

Layout & Space

Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom – worth noting if each guest prefers their own en-suite. That said, they work perfectly when used together as a family suite.
The main dining table seats 18 but can be extended to host up to 26 guests, making it ideal for larger gatherings.

Wellness & Amenities

Whilst the penthouse has a private sauna, the gym and massage area are located on the lower-ground floor of the residence and shared between several other apartments.

For Accommodation Only and Bed & Breakfast bookings, the residence concierge service is available from 8:00–12:00 and 17:00–19:00.

Ideally located for ski enthusiasts, Christiania Penthouse is a 2-minute walk from the village centre and equidistant from Zermatt's three main lifts, providing easy access to the ski area.

Distance to Ski Lifts: 8-minute walk or 3-minute taxi ride to Matterhorn Express gondola, Sunnegga funicular and Gornergrat railway.
Distance to Village Centre: 2-minute walk from the top of the main high street.
