Contemporary chalet on the slopes

Set on the slopes above Lech with open views across the valley, Chalet 1551 combines a front-row mountain position with the comfort of a fully serviced private chalet. The property sits close to the blue Grubenalpe-Oberlech-Lech piste, which leads down towards the Schlosskopfbahn chairlift, giving easy access into the wider Arlberg ski area.

The chalet has two entrances: one at the upper level, leading directly into the communal areas, and another on the lower level by the ski room and spa. The chalet interiors are rich in alpine style, with dark timber, unique artwork and high-quality finishes throughout. Although the interiors use deeper tones, the main living areas still feel bright thanks to the large windows and uninterrupted mountain views.

The main living and dining area sits on the upper floor, with a vaulted ceiling, wood-burning fireplace and access to the south-facing balcony.

The terrace is one of the chalet’s best features, with panoramic views, outdoor seating and a barbecue setup for relaxed lunches or drinks in good weather. Inside, the open kitchen and closed professional kitchen allow service to run smoothly, whether guests are gathering around the bar before dinner or sitting down for a more formal meal.

Chalet 1551 sleeps up to 12 adults and four children across seven en-suite bedrooms. Several rooms can be arranged as doubles or twins and six of the bedrooms open directly onto a balcony or terrace. The spacious master bedroom includes dressing room and freestanding bathtub, whilst the bunk room can sleep up to four children.

The spa is extensive, with a 10-metre indoor pool, Jacuzzi, hammam, Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, gym, massage area and relaxation space. After skiing, guests can move between the pool, saunas and treatment room, or arrange a massage or yoga session at the chalet.

There are several spaces to relax in the evening, including two bar areas, a wine vault, entertainment room, plus games and books in the communal area.

Good to Know

Space & Layout:

The twin room is on the compact size. It does have a window but the outlook is limited so is better suited to children or teenagers.
The chalet can accommodate up to 12 adults and four children, but the dining table is more comfortable for 8–10 guests. For full-capacity stays, families may prefer to arrange an earlier children’s supper before adults dine together.

Location & Access

In winter, guests cannot drive a standard car all the way to the chalet. For the final 200 from the main road, guests transfer from the driver service into a Polaris snow vehicle, which is able to cross the piste and bring them directly to the chalet. As a driver service is included, this is handled by the chalet team for arrivals, departures and resort journeys.
