At the heart of Tignes’ skiing experience is the Grande Motte glacier, which reaches 3,456 metres and allows for year-round skiing on select slopes. The red and black runs from here, especially the Grande Motte red, offer thrilling descents with panoramic views.

Tignes offers several excellent beginner areas across its villages, with nursery slopes in Val Claret, Tignes Le Lac, Le Lavachet, and Les Brévières, and a magic carpet in Tignes 1800.

Once new skiers are ready to progress, gentle blue pistes are easily accessible via lifts like Tichot and Grattalu in Val Claret. Tignes Le Lac and Le Lavachet provide beginner-friendly blue slopes and scenic long runs like Rhododendron into Les Brévières.For beginners looking to advance even further, the Grande Motte and Palet sectors offer gentle, wide blues with beginner-friendly zones on Grattalu.

Intermediate skiers will enjoy Tignes’ wide range of blue and red runs, particularly around Val Claret. These slopes offer a balance of smooth descents with some more challenging stretches. Standouts include Double M and Grattalu, which provide exciting descents and scenic views. Accessed by a funicular railway, Le Panoramic is a unique mountain restaurant at 3,032m with breathtaking 360° panoramic views. In an inviting interior, enjoy authentic and delicious wood-fired dishes, including choice cuts of meat and fish to share.

For a Michelin-star experience, Ursus, housed within one of the resort’s finest hotels, offers contemporary-style Alpine cuisine in a spectacular forest-themed setting. The cheese selection focuses exclusively on the Savoie and is accompanied by an impressive wine list. Another favourite is La Table de Jeanne, an authentic farmhouse-style restaurant serving delicious Savoyard dishes such as raclette and fondue.
