Despite its expansion over the years, St Anton has managed to preserve its authentic Tyrolean charm. The resort's heart is the pedestrianised Dorfstrasse, lined with hotels, shops, bars, and restaurants. St Anton chalets are typically situated a bit further out, with some of the most opulent rentals located in the Nasserein neighbourhood.
Ideal for corporate gatherings, wedding parties, or family reunions, The Lodge @ 47 is just a two-minute walk from the Nasserein ski lift. Another popular choice for large groups is Chalet Eden Rock. Although slightly further from the lift, Chalet Lena and Chalet Artemis are two of our favourite catered chalets in St Anton.
For those seeking a ski-in/ski-out St Anton chalet, Chalet Tschoder boasts an enviable location on the edge of the piste leading to the Nasserein lift. For self-catered accommodation, consider the spectacular the ski-in Villa Villekulla.
The most convenient area to stay is near the main street, just a short stroll from the primary ski lifts (Gampenbahn, Galzigbahn, and Fangbahn). For families, we recommend Chalet 53, located at the quieter end of the main street.
To the west of the lifts, the village extends up the hill toward the Arlberg Pass through Oberdorf and Gastig. These areas are home to several charming chalets, including Kikombe Lodge and Chalet Bluebird, both within a short walk or drive from the lifts and village centre.

St Anton is part of the Arlberg region, which includes the villages of St Anton am Arlberg, St Christoph, Stuben, Lech, Zürs, Warth, and Schröcken. Skiers in St Anton have access to over 300 km of marked slopes and 200 km of off-piste trails, making it a prime destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
St Anton’s local slopes are divided into three main sectors. The first, Kapall-Gampen, is easily accessed from the village via a four-seater chairlift that takes you to the Gampen mid-station. From there, a second chairlift ascends to Kapall at an altitude of 2,330m.
The Galzig sector, linked to Gampen, can be accessed either at village level or higher up the mountain. A cable car from Galzig provides access to the renowned Valluga area and you can also ski down to the village of St Christoph, with a recommended stop for lunch at one of our favourite restaurants, Hospiz Alm.
The final sector, Rendl, is located on the opposite side of the village. Reached by gondola, this area is generally quieter, but keep in mind that the only way back to St Anton is via a red run (or by taking the gondola).
While St Anton offers excellent ski schools, beginners may find it challenging to progress here. The best area for first-timers is around Nasserein, with its nursery slopes and magic carpets. However, once you have mastered these slopes, there are relatively few easy blues to move on to, aside from those around the Gampen mid-station.
For confident intermediate skiers, St Anton has plenty to offer. However, those who are more cautious may find the resort challenging, as easier runs are often isolated, requiring careful planning to avoid more difficult sections. Some of the most suitable pistes include the blues on Rendl above the mid-station and the long 64 blue run down to St Christoph. It's advisable to avoid Steissbachtal, the main blue run back to St Anton from Galzig, which is known for its mogulled terrain and end-of-day crowds.
True intermediates will find plenty of options across all sectors, including the fast reds down from Albonagrat to St Christoph and the leg-testing run from the top of Valluga down to St Anton.
St Anton truly shines for expert skiers and boarders, offering a wide range of advanced red and black slopes, including the steep Fang piste below Gampen and the Kandahar black run in the Galzig area. However, St Anton's reputation among advanced skiers is largely built on its off-piste opportunities. The steep, untouched powder fields of Mattun and the Valluga North Face are particular highlights but should only be attempted with an experienced guide.
Freestylers will find entertainment at the Stanton terrain park, which ranks among the top three snowparks in Europe. The park offers sections for all skill levels, including Proline, Medium Kickerline, and Jibline, with features like kickers, pipes, rails, and boxes.

Seeking out the best places to eat is one of our favourite pastimes when visiting ski resorts, and St Anton does not disappoint. The resort is famous for its legendary après-ski scene, it also offers a variety of excellent dining options both on and off the mountain.
On the slopes, one of our culinary highlights is Verwallstube, an elegant restaurant perched at 2,085 metres, making it one of the highest three-toque restaurants in Europe. Although it's perfect for a leisurely lunch, every Thursday evening, you can ride the gondola to an intimate candlelit dinner here accompanied by piano music. Sennhütte is another fantastic option, offering delicious Tyrolean specialities accompanied by breathtaking views over St Anton.
Providing a unique take on traditional mountain fare, Thony’s serves up Tyrolean “hut food with a twist”. The large sun terrace at Rendl Restaurant, known as Rendl Beach, is the perfect place to unwind while watching freestylers show off their tricks at Stanton Park. It has its own beach bar and a relaxed menu to match.
As the sun sets, St Anton’s culinary offerings continue to impress. Skiing Buddah offers a laid-back Thai dining experience, ideal for those looking for a casual evening meal beyond the traditional mountain cuisine.
For a taste of Spain, Bodega serves up tapas and red wine in a cosy setting. For fine dining, the Hazienda Restaurant at the m3 Hotel provides an elegant atmosphere, while Ooben im Moose at the Mooser Hotel and the Museum Restaurant both offer gourmet cuisine that’s perfect for a special night out.
For something more intimate, Alpin Gourmet Stube at Hotel Gletscherblick is an excellent choice for a small celebration or private party.
Après-ski in St Anton is nothing short of iconic with Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh leading the charge. Located on the blue Galzig piste leading down to town, these venues draw in the crowds with table-top dancing, cheesy music and copious amounts of beer and Jägermeister. Taps is another popular spot for après with a resident DJ from 3pm.
If this isn’t quite your scene, then you’ll find a more relaxed vibe at Anton Bar at the base of the Galzig gondola. In the Nasserein area, Fanghouse is an inviting spot for coffee, drinks and snacks, whilst Kellar Bar offers a cosy, rustic cellar setting with live music. Giggls is a favourite of ours, perfect for enjoying coffee, cake and cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. For late-night action, Murmel's is a small yet lively venue known for its delicious burgers and vibrant live music scene.

The weekly ski and snowboarding show, “The Snow Must Go On” is a 45-minute multimedia journey through the history of skiing featuring daring displays by local ski instructors and a dramatic firework display. Music lovers will enjoy the Tanzafe Festival, held at the end of March and beginning of April, while the legendary “White Thrill” ski race offers a gruelling challenge for those who are brave enough.

When the snow melts, St Anton transforms into a summer paradise. The Arlberg’s stunning natural beauty is revealed, making it an ideal destination for outdoor adventures. St. Anton is situated in the Arlberg region, on the border between Tyrol and Austria’s westernmost province, Vorarlberg. The closest international airport is Innsbruck, located just 100 km away—a convenient one-hour drive to the resort.
